Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain In The Collar Bone

default
Posted on Mon, 20 Mar 2017
Question: I began having a pain around my collar bone on the left side that sometimes radiates up the left side of my head. I have not fallen or bumped it in any way. about 6 years ago I had a heart attack and apparently ignored some symptoms that I shouldn't have. Do you think this could have anything to do with my heart? I have no other symptoms and otherwise feel the same as always.

Brief Answer:
Cervical spondylosis vs Angina pectoris

Detailed Answer:
Hi there

Thanks for the query

Usually pain radiating from the chest to the left arm, down the forearm to the little finger and sometimes to the neck and chin could be attributed to angina pectoris. This could signify decreased blood supply to the heart and impending heart attack. There may also be associated shortness of breath.

The other cause of pain radiating from the back of the neck to the shoulder and to the back of the head could be due to Cervical spondylosis. This is a degenerative condition of the bony spine in the neck, compressing the nerves.

It would be best to get an Xray of the Cervical spine and also get an EKG and 2D ECHO to look for Cervical spondylosis and Heart problems respectively.

Do upload your reports.

You can take Tablet Diclofenac with Thicolchicoside combination twice a day after meals and Tablet Rabeprazole twice a day before meals for 5 days. Apply hot packs to the affected regions. Avoid using thick pillow while lying down. Avoid bending neck forward.

I hope I have answered your query.

I will be available to answer your follow up queries.
