Brief Answer:
magnesium sulphate paste, may need oral antibiotics

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Pain would be expected with a foreign body in the finger and discoloration is also a common reaction.
Swelling, increased warmth may also occur.

A foreign body can cause infection so she may need a course of antibiotics especially if she has any illness that can affect her immune response eg diabetes

Magnesium sulphate cream/paste helps to pull out foreign objects from the body. It works well.
She should consider an anti inflammatory medication such as naproxen or ibuprofen , if she can use these medications. If there is no significant pain relief one of these can be combined with paracetamol.

The area should be cleaned with an anti septic at least twice daily and a topical antibiotic applied (eg bactroban, neosporin, fucindin etc)

It is important to remember that she may need to see her doctor to get oral antibiotics.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
