Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain In The Hips And Frequent Urge To Urinate

Posted on Fri, 25 Nov 2016
Question: Hello, my name is XXXX and I'm a 21 year old female. I've been having pain in both of my ovaries for little more than the past month, but nothing unbearable. There will be an occasional sharp pain that sometimes carries over my hip bones, and that's usually when I've been standing for awhile. (I'm a cook, so I stand for about 9-12 hours a day.) I also often feel like I have to urinate during the day, even if I have just gone to the bathroom. When I have bowel movements also seems to agitate my ovaries. Tonight though, I woke up to my bed being soaked with water of some kind. I think I may have wet the bed, but it didn't smell like urine, it smelt woody and burnt. Could it be water from my womb? If so, what do I do now?

Brief Answer:
You probably have urinary tract infection.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Health Care Magic. I am Dr Ramadevi Wani. I will be answering your concerns today.

I read your notes meticulously. From your notes it appears that you probably have urinary tract infection. The fluid you soaked could still be urine. It is unlikely to be vaginal fluid.

Please consult a doctor and get the urine microscopy and culture sensitivity test done. Internal examination will confirm whether you have vaginal discharge.

It is possible that the pain could be related to your long hours of standing. Make sure you move around for 10 minutes every 2 hours. Do stretching exercises daily.

Do you have painful periods? Does this pain increase just before periods ? If so, a small possibility of endometriosis should be considered.

I hope this is helpful.
If you have further concerns I will be happy to answer.
Best wishes,
Dr Rama

I was able to get into the military medics' office today, and they tested for pregnancy and UTI, both came up negative. I had extremely painful periods during high school, but the past 3 years I have been on Birth Control, and that seems to have helped with the pain. This last period was a bit more painful than usual, but still not like it used to be before. Throughout the day, I'm moving around more than standing still, but I am on my feet either way; does that make a difference? Any other possibilities?

Brief Answer:
Details below.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back. The causes I have written are the most likely possibilities.

Try doing stretching exercises daily and see ?
If that also does not help, it is probably due to endometriosis. It does not seem to be due to intestinal causes.

Do let me know how you stay later on
Best wishes,
Dr Rama.
