Question: I have pain on the inside of left knee to the right on my kneecap. Sometimes it is so bad I cannot sleep, climb stairs, or hardly walk. My physician 2 months ago just said stay off it. But I think more is going wrong.Could I have a torn ligament?

Brief Answer:
Yes

Detailed Answer:
Hi and Welcome to HCM.

If there is no improvement after 2 months then it may indicate some more serious injury. If there is pain when you rotate your knee, then this may be sign of collateral ligament tear/ meniscus injury.

I doubt this is total rupture but partial may be and if possible, you should do MRI scan since in some cases it can be surgically repaired.

Wish you good health.
Regards
