default
Posted on Thu, 14 Jul 2016
Question: I feel severe pain all most all the time starting from my neck and progessing towards the shoulders, mainly on the back side. I experience no pain in my legs or lower back..its just my shoulders and sometime pain extends to my armpits also. There is no injury or swelling but there are pain points on my back. I have family history of spondylitis but I personally haven't shown a doctor for this.

Brief Answer:
cervical spondylosis

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your query.

I read your message. I suspect you are having cervical spondylosis. As you said radiating pain from neck to shoulder is a typical feature of cervical spondylosis. It may due to disc herniation, repetitive stress for neck muscles, genetic factors, smoking etc.
You can get physiotherapy like ultrasound, neck exercises etc.
If the pain is severe, then you can take Tab ULTRACET.
Check your vit-d levels once again & get an x-ray c-spine & consult an orthopedician for further evaluation.

Get back to me if any query.

Regards,
dr VSK
