Brief Answer:
Can be a muscle sprain or tear.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The sudden sharp pain that you had is likely to be due to a minor muscle sprain or a tear. This needs rest, mild pain killers and a hot compress for relief. Avoid all painful movements and you can get an oral muscle relaxant prescribed in case the pain is severe. Using a chest belt of appropriate size will also help in providing rest to the area. It will take around 2 weeks to heal properly.
I hope this answers your query.
In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out.
