Question : I am experiencing severe pain in my right foot, middle, outer edge. There is a slight bone protrusion or swelling. I selected sports medicine which is the closest i could find to a podiatrist.
Brief Answer:
Osteophyte most likely, needs Xray
Detailed Answer:
Hi there,
Thanks for the query
Considering your age and the position mentioned, it could be a bony swelling or osteophyte due to arthritis.
It would be helpful if you could attach a picture of your foot with the swelling.
Apply warm packs to the affected region. Wear soft soled footwear. Perform ankle pumps.
Try Tablet Acetaminophen or Paracetamol 500mg twice a day for any pain related to the swelling.
Do get an Xray of the foot and ankle if possible, such will be very helpful to find the nature of the swelling.
I hope I have answered your query.
I will be available to answer your follow up queries.
