Brief Answer:
Seems to be a neuropathy

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for posting the query.

Pain in upper left arm can be due to many reasons.

1. Commonest cause is a neuritic pain.Inflammation or compression of the upper arm nerve can cause such type of pain.An early cervical disc prolapse can be the reason for this type of nerve compression.

2. Supraspinatus tendinitis ( inflammation of a muscle inside the shoulder ) can cause radiating pain in upper arm.

3. Heart related causes can also cause referred pain in left arm.I hope you are not on ant-hypertension drugs. If you are, then you can get a ECG done to rule out cardiac related etiology.

I suggest you to take anti-inflammatory muscle relaxant and methylcobalamin-pregabalin tablets for 3 days.
Application of local gel and hot fomentation will be helpful.

Avoid lifting anything heavy or sleeping over on the affected side.

An MRI of neck can be done if the pain radiates to the neck region.

I hope the answer was useful.

Feel free to ask me any doubts that you may have.

Thank you.

Take care.
