Question : I had severe pain on the along the inner side of my right leg below knee. Dr said it was bursa, he injected my leg 5 days ago, and I can not walk, pain when I put pressure on my leg. Swelling and tenderness on site of injection. What do you recommend, I have iced and elevated my leg for the last 4 days, do not seem to be getting better.

Local steroid injection helps to reduce the inflammation but it can cause an initial pain also. Since it has been 4 days since the injection, you can do a hot compress now and in case the swelling is gradually increasing then do consult your orthopedician to rule out an infection or a hematoma. Rest and pain killers will help in gradually reducing the swelling.
