Posted on Tue, 24 Mar 2015
Question: I have fibroadenoma tumors in my right axilla. I have gone through one operation 2 years back. It is so painful that some times i cant even move my hand. I need to check the further process for that coz I guess it started growing again as i am feeling the symptoms again usually it will happen at PMS.

even i noticed swelling in my stomach , hands and feet. I have done random kidney test which was normal and blood test in whic my WBC was quite high and MCV was low.

Hello,

I read your concerns about growth of fibroadenoma again and symptoms you are experiencing.

I would like spme additional details before answering your query:

1) Do you feel the mass by your hand before menses?

2) Have you seen a doctor and got examined?

3) Your swelling of feet and hand are more or same. Swelling is equal in both hand and feet or is more on one side ?

Let me know details so that I can get back to you with accurate reply. Also please upload the pertinent reports so that I can take a look at them.

Hi Dr. XXXXXXX ,

Thanks for your reply.

Yes I feel mass formation before menses every month and there is a new mass formation in my right hand wrist .

As I told you earlier I concerned this with a doctor and they have done one operation for biopsy and gt to know that its fibroadenoma. Before they tried ultrasound and tried to take the fluid out from the mass buy needle but it was not coming then they decided to take it out they removed two tumors that time.

The swelling is more same on both hand and feet. but some times I feel that its more in right hand may be duet o tumor.

Brief Answer:
This appears like recurrence of fibroadenoma

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for additional information.

It looks like fibroadenoma is growing again.

It is known to have recurrences.

You said your MCV was low. Get your hemoglobin also checked. If there is low hemoglobin, it causes anemia which leads to swelling as you described.

Swelling could also be due to obstruction of lymph nodes caused by fibroadenoma.

Either case, you need to get examined by your surgeon and check for growth of fibroadenoma.

I hope your question is answered.

Let me know if you need further clarification / advice.

Regards,
Dr. Soumya
