Question : I have had severe bright red rectal bleeding every day for the last 5 weeks. This is the longest period of time that it has been this consistent. Usually it is just a few times a month and has been off and on for two years since my son was born. It usually occurs after bowel movement but not always and is a significant amount of blood, lasting for 30-60 minutes. I have hemroids from child birth, but feel like this is unrelated to that. I have started to notice extreme fatigue, bruising easily on my legs, and abdominal sensitivity to touch. Wondering if these are all related and this is something more serious than just bleeding hemroids?

Brief Answer:
need investigation Asap.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

The fresh blood may be or may not be related to hemorroids. however fresh investigation is warranted with colonoscopy. Since it's XXXXXXX red blood i suppose bleeding hemorroids in rectum or sigmoid cause this.
All the other symptoms are related to anemia that you obviously would have. Bruising easily needs to be investigated for Vit K definitely. bleeding, clotting times along with blood counts gives an idea too.
Colitis, diverticulitis are striking my mind now. Please see a GI doctor sooner.
