Suggest Treatment For Severe Shoulder Blade Pain

default
Posted on Wed, 22 Jun 2016
Question: Hi, I have severe pain in back on the left side near or behind the scapula??. The pain is extreme and very often wakes me at night. I believe I have some swelling in the armpit area of the same side. I am having trouble even getting into my vehicle without hitting my head, because of the loss of mobility. I have had surgery 12 years ago for spinal stenosis in my neck but have not had issues with that since. The other night as I rolled over in pain in bed, my spine cracked sounding like someone shuffling a deck of cards.

Brief Answer:
May be related to the spinal column in neck region!!!

Detailed Answer:
welcome to HCM and thanks for the consult. I appreciate your trust in our services.

After careful review I want to add here that the symptoms you face, clearly warrant an Orthopedist clinic visit in-person. There may be an issue with the spinal column in neck region. Malignancy is also suspected in the perspective of some changes that you feel in armpit area. The pain that is unbearable, limited movements, history of prior surgery in the region are all serious signs that warrant you to consult a specialist as advised.

Armpit (Axillary) mass or something that you feel there can actually be lymph nodes that swell up when there is some infection to the areas of its drainage (arm, hand, chest and neck).

Your Physician will go for a thorough examination Physically and will go for some diagnostics including but not limited to an MRI spine. If needed he may refer you to a surgeon for evaluation, examination and diagnosis of the cause of Axillary issues you are feeling. If needed the Surgeon may go for a Diagnostic Biopsy of the Lymph Nodes in armpit.

Hope it helps. please feel free to ask me for more details if needed.

Regards!
