Question : Hello , I had shoulder surgery twice, the last time was done with screws and a piece of bone put inside. I am in severe pain of my shoulder. I feel it slipping sometimes, although I am going to my doctor in Mayo Clinic july 31st. But as far as it goes I really am in severe pain!
Brief Answer:
You need to apply hot compress. Analgesics would be helpful.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I understand your situtation. As of now, hot compress and pain medication are what you would have to resort upon. Apply hot compress as and when requried. If the pain is still present, try taking tylenol 1g (two tablets of 500 mg taken together) as needed but at minimum interval of 3-4 hours. I hope that should provide relief.
Regards

Brief Answer:
You need to visit a general or family medicine doctor to get a prescription
Detailed Answer:
Let me apologize for the delay. I hand lost my internet connectivity.
There are a number of over the counter pain medications belonging to NSAID (non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) category. They are effective, so I do not think that you need a prescription medication for the same. However, if you wish to go for a prescription pain medication, you would have to approach a general practitioner. Doctors from this platform would be unable to prescribe you medicines.
