Brief Answer:
Frozen shoulder

Detailed Answer:
Hi there

Thanks for the query

Usually both shoulder involvement can indicate Frozen shoulder and seen commonly in Diabetes, Hypothyroidism and Parkinson disease.

Other cause can be due to slip disc in the neck but there may also be tingling and numbness along the inner aspect of the upper limb with weakness of the shoulder and hand movements.

Upper arm can hurt if the shoulder joint capsule has lost its hydration from the joint fluid as seem in Frozen shoulder. You can avoid any sort of movement right now until a clear diagnosis is made by the ultrasound. Use a shoulder arm pouch for the more affected side. Avoid using thick pillow, bending neck forwards or lifting weights.

The ultrasound scan can pick that up as well as look for Rotator cuff muscle tears.

I hope I have answered your query.

I was told it is inflammation in my rotator cuff and that this can affect the upper arm should I apply heat or ice I also work at a desk all day
Could this also have to do with my neck issues

Brief Answer:
Bilateral shoulder Rotator cuff inflammation rare

Detailed Answer:
Rotator cuff us a possibility but being on both sides is quite rare.

Yes, slip disc in the neck can also cause bilateral arm pain. Sitting at a desk can aggravate slip disc.
