Question : My daughter has severe striae on her legs, hips, boobs, butt. She is 5'6 and 130 pounds. She has been tested for Cushings disease and various other things without pinpointing an answer. Her straie continues to get worse. It was suggested to her to take DAO & Quericitn. Do you think this will help? Could it be her histamine levels?

Brief Answer:
Striae are not related to histamine.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.

Quercetin is a herbal medicament and has many properties such as antiinflamatory, antiallergic and contains antioxidants that may help in improving striae.

I'm not shure what you mean with DAO.

Striae or stretch marks are caused by rapid weight gain, hormonal changes during puberty, Cushing's, corticosteroids use or may be related to genetic disorders such as Marfan's, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome.

In your doughter's case hormonal changes should be evaluated first.

Treatment possibilities include Tretionin cream, microdermabrasion and laser therapy.

There's need to consult a Dermatologist and discuss about treatment possibilities.

Also an evaluation of puberty hormones levels should be done.

Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.
