Question : my son went to the ER week with a severe headache. they called it a tension headache. gave him motrin
that was in Tuesday. headache went away but came back friday. saturday he is ok again there are no other symptoms

Okay, since there are no other symptoms, it could be a primary headache such tension type.

Motrin is okay to control this kind of headaches symptoms.

However, if these headaches become more severe and frequent, an evaluation by a Neurologist about conditions such subarachnoidal hemorrhage for example is necessary.
