Question: after coughing really hard that i almost vomited, why am i having terrible underarm pain but my chest feels fine?

Thanks for posting your query on HCM.

Coughing and vomiting is a violent process which in which many muscles of chest wall and abdomen are involved more so in vomiting. There is forceful contraction of these muscles and at times some of these muscles or few fibres of these muscles may also tear. In your case also probably due to force of the act some muscles in your underarm may have got strained resulting in pain that you are experiencing now. You may take a pain killer, apply some local pain relieving gel and take rest. It should soon be alright.
