Posted on Wed, 14 Dec 2016
Question: For past 4 days have had sharp, continuous pain in lower left abdomen affecting walking and other exercise. No pain when sitting or even standing in place and feels better after night's sleep. Then, resumes the more active I am during the day. Feels like muscle pull, but isn't abating. Thanks

Brief Answer:
Possible pulled mucle but also rule out other options

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank you for using HCM to post your question.
I read it carefully and I understand your concern.

What you are describing seems like a muscular pain indeed since it gets worse by activity and also gets better by advil.

We need to rule out some other causes though:
-- Make sure it is not related with bowel movement. If you have normal bowel movement then its good. Constipation may cause that type of pain. So if you have it then work with your diet by including lots of fruits, vegetables and fibers.
-- Make sure its not a hernia causing the pain. See if anything bulges when you cough or bear weight because its then when a possible hernia would be visible.

If both are negative then continue with Advil and rest. Maybe you have pulled a muscle and it needs time to heal.

Hope this is helpful.
