Question : I am having sharp pains across the upper part of my abdomen, that start on the right side under the ribcage and move to the left. It is also causing pain across my back in the same area.

Gallstones.

Hello.

Thank you for the query.

Such pain is very characteristic for gallstones. You may have nausea with the pain. Fatty foods can make this pain worse.
I suggest you to have abdominal ultrasound done. If gallstones will be confirmed, surgery is necessary to remove gallbladder.
In a meanwhile please avoid fatty, spicy and fried foods.
