Suggest Treatment For Shin Splint Which Causes Severe Pain While Running
Question: I have shin splint problem from the initial, I don't do running more frequently because of this problem. If I continuously do running in gym or in park for 10 mins it will hardly take a week and then I can feel severe pain in shin which again take 3-4 days to disappear if i stop running. Not sure if I can run without this pain.
Brief Answer:
Let the area heal properly first.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
The pain that you feel after running is due to shin splints. This is a stress related pain and reappears as soon as there is stress of running. The pain can disappear if the shin splints heal completely.
You need to give the leg proper rest with an elastic bandage and regular hot fomentation till it heals properly. It can take 3-5 weeks of rest and anti inflammatory medicines to heal.
I hope this answers your query. In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out.
Wishing you good health.
