Suggest Treatment For Shingles And Weakness

Question: Dr. Panagiotis Zografakis,

Hi! It's XXXX. You helped me so much with my reflux issue, which is now pretty much gone!
Because i am weakened by shingles -- which I contracted on 12.24.14!, my immume system is shot.
I'm getting stronger everyday. I had a painful bout with thrush. My doctor gave me the nystatin "swish" -- which got rid of it immediately.
I think i may have it again: my jaws are tight, the sides of my tongue are burning painfully and the surface of my tongue has a white film on it (I've never had that before!) It's mighty uncomfortable and makes me not want to eat. But I am dangerously thin -- not eating just can't happen! Can you help?

Thanks so much.

Happy new year.

Brief Answer:
you can use fungustatin or itraconazole

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

the most effective treatments for oral candidiasis are fungustatin by mouth (pill) and itraconazole solution. Fungustatin is the first line treatment, particularly if esophageal involvement is suspected. Symptoms of a lump when swallowing or substernal pain after swallowing may be the only symptoms. An upper endoscopy would clarify this issue if the symptoms are present.

If esophageal involvement is ascertained then the treatment should continue for at least 3 weeks (or a couple of weeks after symptom resolution, whatever is longer).

I hope you get better soon!
Kind Regards!
