Question : My 84 year old father has started to have the shivers all over his body, but he isn't cold. He is in the final stages of liver cancer. The shivers don't happen every day and last for about a hour to an hour and a half. Hospice nurse and dr. says he is "cold inside" and that is why his body is shivering, even though dad tells us he isn't cold.

Hi

Since your father is in final stages of liver cancer the aim of treatment now should only be supportive care.

Whenever shivering occurs i would advise you to give him pheniramine maleate 25 mg tablet with doctors advise.

It contains antihistamines which works by blocking the action of histamine which causes shivering reaction in the body.
