Brief Answer:
Should wait to see if she starts to lose weight

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Increasing the dose of Lazix is the correct decision in this case. If heart failure patient starts to gain weight rapidly and has shortness of breath, we should increase the dose of diuretics.
You should be patient and wait.
Of course, in her age mortality from congestive heart failure is high, but in majority of patients we have good results.
If her weight starts to decrease in two days, it is a good sign.

Hope I could help you
