Suggest Treatment For Single Papillae On Skin

Posted on Thu, 18 Jun 2015
Question: I have one papillae that looks like it is bigger than others. It has been like that for several months (at least that is when I first noticed it). It is not painful or sensitive to anything. One of the doctors on the Internet told me it is an hypertrophied papillae and it is variation of normal. I would like a second opinion. I am attaching an image.

Brief Answer:
hypertrophied papillae, candidiasis, medication

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your query.
I have gone through the query and the images.

As per the images it looks like a hypertrophied papillae or it can be a fungal infection like candidiasis (because of the red appearance).

You can use topical antifungal agents like clotrimazole. For the hypertrophic papillae you can take beta carotene and vitamin A.
Take these medicines for a week and if it is not subsiding then consult a oral physician and get it evaluated. Maintain tongue hygiene by tongue brushing. Do saline gargling.

Nothing to be worried. Consult a oral physician and get it evaluated.

I hope I have answered your query. Take care.
