Hello!
Welcome to HealthcareMagic!

I had gone through your query.
It would be very helpful for me if you list all your actual symptoms (i.e if you have runny nose ,itchy and watery eyes, headaches ,fever ,sore throat etc).
-Are you allergic to something?
-Is there anyone else around you having these symptoms?

It is important to understand if your symptoms are due to a common cold (a viral infection ) or an allergy.
Sometimes it is difficult to make the difference between these 2 conditions because the symptoms are very similar.

If you have itchy watery eyes ,runny stuffy nose ,sore throat and the symptoms doesn't seem to get better the most likely it is an allergy.
If you have runny nose with sore throat ,cough ,headaches ,body aches then it is possible to be a common cold.
In this case you don't need any specific treatment, just rest ,drink plenty of water and eat healthy. The symptoms may last up to 7-10 days.It doesn't last longer then 2 weeks.
You can use an non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug like Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen for headaches and throat pain.

If your symptoms are due to an allergy the will last longer (maybe weeks to months or until you avoid to exposure to the allergen (pollen ,dust ,mold etc).
In this case you will need symptomatic treatment to reduce the inflammation in your upper respiratory tract.
-You may need Antihistamines :Loratadine (Claritine) ,Benadryl ,Allegra etc.
They are over the counter antihistamines.
-Decongestants to relieve congestion (nasal spray, eye drop or tablets ).
Some allergy drugs contain both an antihistamine and a decongestant like Allegra-D ,Claritin -D etc.
-Gargling with salt water may help
-Drink plenty of water.

If your symptoms doesn't seem to improve in 4-5 days please consult a physician and get examined.

Hope it was of help.
Let me know if you have other questions or doubts to clarify.
I will be happy to assist you further.

Brief Answer:
Allergic Rhinitis.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Thank you for the details.
So you are having Allergic Rhinitis. The sore throat is caused because nose and sinus secretions are drained in the back of the throat casing irritation and inflammation.

The first thing to improve your sore throat is to reduce the secretions produced in your nose and sinuses.
You can use a decongestant nasal spray for a few days or you can take a systemic decongestant (for example you can change Benadryl for Benadryl-D).
-You should try to avoid the allergens responsible for your allergic reaction (stay in home to avoid contact with pollen ,clean well your house and wash you clothes ).
-Gargling with salt water may help ease the inflammation in your throat.
-Drink plenty of water and rest a lot.

If the symptoms doesn't seem to improve you should consult a physician .He may prescribe you a mild steroid to help with the symptoms.

Wish you all the best.
Take care,
Dr.Rovena
