Question : If you have trouble with Sinusitis, can this cause Vertigo. I have been fighting Sinus Problems for approx. 10-12 weeks and I have noticed that in the last 4-5 days I get very lighthended and Dizzy when I get up and kI have a hard time keeping my balance.Is this Vertigo caused by my sinusitis ? Thank-You, XXXX

Thanks for posting the query. I do understand your concern and I'll try best to help you with this query.

The dizziness could be either related to sinusitis alone or vestibular neuronitis secondary to the upper respiratory tract infection.

Sinusitis can reduce the oxygen intake in the body and increase the carbon dioxide content. The increase in the concentration of the latter can stimulate the brain and cause dizzy.

Secondly, there can be infection of the inner ear labyrinth causing dizziness.

I would suggest you to consult your doctor for a complete examination and management.
