Question: I have had these symptoms for a few days - I feel a release of pressure on the right side of my head with the sensation of fluid running down the back of my ear and side of my neck. I will also experience a sensation of heat in my ear. From beginning to end - this only lasts for about 15 to 30 seconds. I have no headache or pain.

Brief Answer:
Tube dysfunction

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for using Healthcaremagic.

I went through your query and understood your concerns.

Your symptoms are suggestive of sinusitis with block in tube connecting ear and nose.
Tube which connects ear and nose helps to equalise pressure in middle ear, abnormal functioning of tube results in sudden pressure changes in ear, what you are feeling as sudden release of pressure.

You can try valsalva manvuore , close mouth and nose and try to blow air out, which helps to improve functioning of the tube which connects ear and nose. you need to do 4-5 times a day
Antihistamine medication and nasal decongestants help to control sinusitis.

You can try these measures for 3 or 4 days, if your symptoms doesn't improve with these measures you can consult ENT specialist to get your sinus examination done.

Hope I answered your query. Feel free to ask further related query.

Regards
