Question: hello sir i have very dry, sensitive skin ,medium skin tone and few acne marks.i heard a lot about demelan cream for enhancing fairness.i am 28 years old female.i am indian. can i use this for prolong period? will it suit to my very dry skin? can i use this cream in morning as well or i have to use sunscreen in morning? what supplement would be preferable with the cream? i have used neosporin cream on my entire face for last 7 days. and yesterday i have used vetnovate -n .i did this treatment myself to cure the red itchy bumps and patches on my one chick and skin is very very dry and sensitive.wherever i used to itch the particular area became pigmented. cream i used has solved problem initially. i am using some or other fairness cream from last 6 years. i have not dermatitis on my face for which i am seeking treatment.it is only on my hand for which i am taking Corticosteroids and esteroids prescribed by doctor. on face the problem appeared very recently and is totally different from my hand problem.i am basically seeking medicine to cure dryness and enhance fairness. suggest me some cream which i can use for long term. i am currently also taking homeopathic medicine for my cronic asthma and sea cod tablets. i take azeflo nasal spray when once in a week(no proper time is fixed ,whenever i feel nasal conjestion and like sneezing) thanking you in anticipation

Brief Answer: Begin with once daily application of Demelan Detailed Answer: Hi. Thanks for posting your concern at HCM Demelan cream contains 3 active ingredients, i.e. alpha-arbutin, kojic acid and glycolic acid. Indications for using this cream are: -Pigmentation/tanning/post-acne hyperpigmentation/Rejuvenation: Glycolic acid, kojic acid and arbutin are skin lightening agents. Glycolic acid is in addition is a mild exfoliant and thus helps in acne control as well. Glycolic acid also delays the onset of fine lines and wrinkles, if used regularly The advantage with this cream is that it can be used over long term. To begin with, I usually ask my patients to use this cream only once daily, in the night. After 1-2 weeks if the patient tolerates the cream well, it can be used twice daily i.e morning and evening. In morning it can be applied before sunscreen. Side effects that can develop with this cream are irritation and redness. Thus it should be used only once daily initially followed by twice daily as tolerance develops. Since you mentioned that you have dry, sensitive skin therefore you should begin with once daily application and then can switch to twice daily application after 1-2 weeks. While you are using this cream you should avoid using any other products that may contain AHA(Alpha hydroxy acids) because of risk of cumulative irritation. Since you have a dry skin therefore you should use a gentle cleanser for face wash e.g Cetaphil cleansing lotion and avoid using soaps on your face. Also use a broad spectrum sunscreen, that which offers both UVB and UVA protection, throughout the day Hope this answers your query take care regards

Brief Answer: Begin with once daily application of Demelan Detailed Answer: Hi. Demelan cream should not be used with any of the OTC products containing AHA, Retinol because of the risk of irritation. You can use a lotion based sunscreen for dry sensitive skin e.g Suncros lotion. You can use Demelan cream for as long as you want. Side effects of this cream can be mild dryness and irritation, therefore i suggest you to begin with once daily application at night. Glycolic acid is a mild exfoliant. It is beneficial for acne control, pigmentation and is also an antiageing molecule. I wont recommend it for using as a make up base because occlusion effect of makeup can lead to irritation Use a mild cleanser for face wash e.g Cetaphil cleansing lotion. For hand dermatitis use a good moisturizer twice daily and apply a potent steroid based cream like Lobate-Gn for the patches. take care regards

Brief Answer: Glyco-A 12% Detailed Answer: Hi. Yes you can use dermabrasion with Glyco A for rejuvenating your skin. Glycolic acid is also an AHA therefore Demelan cream which contains glycolic acid should not be used along with any OTC product like you mentioned Pond age miracle or serum because both of them together can produce cumulative irritation. My point of advising you against using AHA was based on this reason only (because demelan cream already conatins AHA i.e glycolic acid and if you are using any more AHA in cream that you mentioned it might lead to irritation). Glyco-A 12% is a good choice. It also contains glycolic acid. Please dont use both glyco A and demelan together because they are essentially the same products from different companies. you can use either one of them. You can combine either Demelan or glyco-A 12% with Dermabrasion. regards
