Question: I am having systolic hyper tension. recently I had angioplasty done for two blocks. Prolomet XL25 and Telma 20 are prescribed to control blood pressure. I understand calcium channel blockers are prescribed for SHT where as Prolomet is a beta blocker. Even I feel that heart beats do miss. Please advise.

Brief Answer:

Detailed Answer:
Welcome To HCM. I am Dr Anshul Varshney.
I understand your concern.
See, if missed beats are there, a reconsideration of drugs is required as beta blockers and Calcium channel blockers both cause reduction in heart rate.
I am worried about any bradycardia or Arrhythmia that you might be having.
Now many times there is sinus Arrhythmia in which you may feel missed beat, that you feels as you are more concerned. But that is Normal.
I would advise you to get an ECG done with long lead 2.
This would clear the picture and further decision would be based on that.
If you have any further query please ask me.
