Suggest Treatment For Sleep Apnea

Question : Since seeing my doctor today regarding sleep apnea I am now afraid to go to sleep as I was choking at times last night. Am I in eminent danger?

Hello,

you haven't mentioned any other medical history but having sleep apnea is something that you've got to live with at least for the time being. Sleeping is something you can't avoid too! People with borderline heart failure or severe respiratory problems are at the greatest danger for complications due to low oxygen supply during the apneic attack.

Loosing some weight and talking to an ENT specialist for potentially correctable causes of sleep apnea might help. But in the meantime you should go to bed as usual.
