Question : My 7 year old son has 4-5 very small black marks along the circumcision line on his penis. We have not noticed this before at bath time although he says they have been there before and do not hurt. There is no redness, swelling, discharge, or pain.

What level of concern should I have?

Should my wife and I clear our schedules and get him to his pediatrician tomorrow or wash it carefully, monitor it closely for any changes and if there are not but they don't disappear by Sunday, take him on Monday morning.

Thanks in advance.

Brief Answer:
Ignore for the time being.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX and welcome to HCM.
As a Urologist, I can understand your concern.

The kind of black marks seen over the penis are not abnormal.
Many people are found to have such marks, which are of no significance.

Your child also says that he had seen it earlier prior to operation.
You can just ignore it unless there are changes like swelling, itching or pain.

Wish your child well.
