Question: Hi! I have a small lump that you cant really see only feel. It is behind my ear near earlobe. Its not red. Its the same color as my skin. Its firm, but moveable. Its not painful. I saw two doctors who both said it was likely a cyst. I also saw a dermatologist who said it was a cyst and injected it with a steroid to help it go down. It only went down a little, but a few days later it is bigger again. Im afraid its not a cyst and could be a tumor or some sort. What should I do?

Brief Answer:
Hello. It definitely sounds like a benign cyst

Detailed Answer:
Hello. A cyst is moveable, not firmly attached, and this definitely sounds like a cyst.

I personally would not expect a steroid injection to have any effect on a cyst. The only way to get rid of it if it bothers you is to have it excised under local anesthesia. If you only drain it with, say, a needle and syringe, it will eventually just fill up again.

Please let me know if you need any more information.
