Brief Answer:
Wait for a few hours and see.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
THanks for writing to us with your health concern.
Could you please upload details of the cyst ?
Possibly the scan / imaging that picked it up ?
That would give me a better idea of what we are dealing with here.
Again, you are mid cycle, so it could be just ovulatory pain, or pain in the cyst due to enhanced vascularity.
I think you should rest, take a hot water bottle for your back.
Take a painkiller if the pain is significant.
If this passes away in a few hours, it is fine.
You can wait for your appointment.
If it worsens, or does not respond to painkillers, you should visit the ER.
It would help if you could upload the scan.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Take care.

I have no report or images from my scan, however the doc said it is a 2cm complex cyst containing blood. Thank you for your advice. I took pain relief earlier today, the pain was dulled but intensified again after around 3 hrs of taking it. I have taken some more pain relief and will rest up. Hopefully I won't need to go to emergency. If I vomit or become clammy and unwell should I go to ER immediately?

Brief Answer:
Was pregnancy ruled out ?

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for the update.
Complex cysts can cause more pain around mid cycle, that is when the blood flow is maximum, and blood filled cysts in particular become more painful.
Also, this kind of pain can take upto a day to settle down.
Mild nausea is common.
There is no reason for you to get clammy or dizzy, if you do, of course you should go to the ER.
The only real scare with this kind of a cyst is an ectopic pregnancy.
Hope pregnancy has been reasonably ruled out in your case ?

Brief Answer:
Then relax.

Detailed Answer:
Then you can relax.
An ectopic pregnancy might rupture, leading to the kind of emergency complications that are dreadful / lethal.
Otherwise a 2cm complex cyst is most likely an endometriotic cyst, which ruptures in the rarest of rare events.
It might even be an infective cyst.
I do not think you would need emergency care.
It would help if you could procure the documents that image the cyst.
