Question : Hi, I have had this from a long time now, maybe 1 year. Recently it has started getting red and pains too. My dad died of eusophegal cancer in recent past. I am scared if this has any resememblence or is it something else. Should I consult someone?

Thanks for the query

I have seen the picture you have uploaded. It looks like either a small cyst or a lymphnode ( less likely ). Cancer related mets are usually multiple in number and not single.

Here is how you should go about it

1. Approach an Ent surgeon and get it examined.
2. I usually prescribe 5 days of antibiotics like augmentin 625 and see for improvement. The pain in such lesions is usually because of infection
3. If it does not subside then please get it removed/ excised and send for hostopathology
4. do not meddle with it, that is pinch or squeeze it
