Question : I just noticed a small hard lump in my groin near where your thigh joins
Seems hard not real large
What can it be?
I'm going to see urologist but not available until 9/16/15

It could be cystic boil if painful but the important thing is to examine or inspect it by the naked eye.

Seems to be having boil or furuncle.

Hi,
Thanks for uploading image.

I have carefully seen the lump and redness skin around it.

It seems to be having boil or furuncle which could be due to bacterial infection (mostly staphylococcus) or formed when oil ducts become clogged and infected.

If you will feel the red skin around the lump would be slightly warm to touch compared to normal skin and it might be tender to touch.

Treatment is mainly short course of antibiotics (cefixime or cefadroxyl) with pain killers and antihistamines available over the counter.

For antibiotics, you will need a prescription from some local doctor or GP.
