Question : Last year I noticed a small hard lump on my kneecap. It doesn't hurt or move. It has progressed to several and now my kneecap looks/feels deformed. What could this be?
Brief Answer:
There is possibility of prepatellar bursa leading to knee swelling.

Hello
I have studied your case.

MRI or ultrasound knee will help in diagnosis.
If bursa is painful surgical excision is treatment.
If you want temporary relief intrabursal injection can be given which will give long term pain relief.
There may be recurrence of pain after injection.
Consult your doctor for investigation and treatment.
