Question : yes I have a small leakage after a bowel movement. I go each morning and then all day I must wipe a small amount of stool. This irritates my rectum and a short distance up my rectum can you tell me what the problem might be? XXXX

There are some possible anorectal pathologies such as anal fistulas, fissires or rectal polyps,these are benign conditions which can be treated by local surgical intervention. Less common but more serious,we see tumors or inflammatory bowel disorders such as ulcerative colitis or Crohns disease. To rule all these out you should do colonoscopy.
