Question: three weeks ago I hit my ankle on the edge of a chair, the next day I notice a small lump-pea sized, just under the ankle bone. There was never a bruise but it does swell if I'm on my feet all day-still have lump and is sore to touch but does hurt when I walk...could I have chiped a bone?

Brief Answer:
Get xrays done.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have gone through your query.

For exact diagnosis, you need to get xray of ankle joint done in AP and Lateral view and send me the report.

I want to see the present condition of your joint.

Till then you can take aceclofenac + thiocochicoside combination three times a day by prescription.

Apply compression bandage over ankle.

Apply hot packs for 30 mins in morning and evening.

Avoid upstairs, squatting and jumping for about 7 days.

I hope you have got your answer.

Thanks.

Dr.Singh.
