Suggest Treatment For Small White Spots On Cheeks

Question: Hello Doc,

Recently we have started spotting small white spots on the cheeks of my son who is 11 months old.we give him .5 ml vitamin d3 n .5 ml vitamin a to z. Are we missing any additional drops or are these spots sign of calcium deficiency.

Please advice a course of action

Thanks for your query.

Small white spots are usually benign (harmless). If you post a photo I will better able to help.

Serum hemoglobin and iron levels can be checked when your baby is 1 year old. If he is deficient in iron then iron supplementation will be needed. Till then you can continue the syrups that you are already giving. Vitamin D3 should be given alongwith calcium.

Also please give him cleaner water as it may be some fungi etc from water.
