Brief Answer:
Get an X ray done.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for your query.

From the description it seems to be soft tissue injury. As it persists since 8 days, I suggest you to get an X ray to rule out any bony injury.
Give rest to the part. You can take ibuprofen for pain.

Hope this helps you.

Take care.

Some swelling has gone down. Nothing is broken. The muscle is just swollen and sore. Will it take a month or more to get back to a normal size butt? Light use of a heating pad should help?
