                                    Brief Answer:
Upload a clearer picture of the affected scalp area
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at healthcaremagic
I have reviewed the attached photograph but I would request you to upload a clearer picture of the red spot as this photograph is not very clear. I am unable to see the margins clearly.
Apart from this I would like to ask you few questions:
Duration of the red spot?
Any history of dandruff?
Any medication taken for similar complaints?
Regards
Dr Asmeet

                                    Brief Answer:
Probably folliculitis, need oral and topical antibiotics
Detailed Answer:
I have seen the attached photographs and according to me you are probably having folliculitis which is inflammation of the hair follicle.
In such cases I recommend my patients to take oral antibiotics like amoxicillin clavulanic acid combination and apply topical antibiotic like mupirocin on the affected spot. For pain you can consider having diclofenac tablet. These will help in resolving your symptoms.
I don't know whether these medicines will be available as over the counter in your country.

                                    Brief Answer:
Try topical antibiotics alone for 2 days
Detailed Answer:
You can go for topical antibiotics alone for 2 days. If condition improves then no need of oral antibiotics, otherwise you need to take oral antibiotics as well. You will start getting relief in 3-4 days.
