Question: I got scratched 16 months ago at back of my leg by racoon in San Francisco. The raccoons were in a pack with babies. They attacked our dogs. I was treated within 3 hours with immogloubin and vaccinations. I now have a sore throat and ears and am afraid of my life of rabies. My doctor told me i do not have rabies as i was vaccinated and treated very early, Do you agree

Brief Answer:
Yes, I agree with your doctor too.

Detailed Answer:
Hello! I have been through your question.

Based on your history, that you were treated within 3 hours with immunoglobulin and vaccinations I think that you don't have any risk to get rabies now.

Treatment with an anti-serum and vaccine works well if you receive them soon after being bitten or scratched (as you have done).

So, I think that your recent symptoms have not relation with rabies infection but could be only some upper respiratory tract infection.

I hope my answer helps you.
I wish you a quick recovery.
Regards.
