Most common cause is viral, in which case medicines will not help.
Detailed Answer:
Hello Mr. XXXXXXX
Thank you for posting your question here.
Most common colds and throat infections are caused by viruses, such infections do not respond to medicines as there are no specific antivirals for all the viruses.
And antibacterials are a waste of money and will only makes things worse by causing the emergence of antibiotic resistant bacteria, so that is not a wise option.
You can take nasal decongestants for symptomatic relief along with steam inhalation with vicks capsulessqueezed into the boiling hot water. Along with this you must also do salt water gargling for the throat congestion.
I would advice you to take Tab Sinarest three times a day for 3 days and see how it goes, if during this time the symptoms get worse of if you develop fever or purulent discharge from the throat or nose, then you would need to consult your local doctor and get a course of antibiotics like Azithromycin prescribed in appropriate dosage based on your body weight.
Self medication is a strict no.
I hope this answers your query adequately, please feel free to write back to me if you have any doubts.
Wishing you speedy recovery.
Best regards.
