                                            Question : My tongue is sore on the front/middle part of the top, and on the sides.  It is also red in those locations.  It gets irritated when I eat, or when I drink hot beverages.  What could be the cause?

After reading your clinical history it appears that you are most probably having glossitis.
If I were your treating Doctor for this case, I would advice you
Antiseptic chlorhexidine Mouth Wash twice daily,
Plenty of fluids,
anesthetic antacid gel like mucaine gel twice daily,
tab Vitamin C twice daily &
multivitamin minerals antioxidants syrup twice daily.
You will get relief.
You will need to see your doctor to get a prescription.
