Question : My Wife has been on Sodium Valproate for 41 Years. Could this be affecting her gums.
She has sore teeth and feels them moving in her mouth.

Yes, sodium valproate can cause teeth damage in some patients but is not commonly known to do so.
I suggest that you should get examined by a Dentist to rule out a primary teeth pathology.If the other causes get ruled out, valproate may be considered as a cause.
Further, calcium supplementation should be taken with valproate.
