Question : One family physician thought I had spinal stenosis after an mri almost 5 years ago. my chronic pain is the result of something else I believe. My lower baxk, between my shoulder blades, muscle weakness, numbness in right leg and pain that radiates down my arms to my hand.

Symptoms you describe indicate that there is neurological involvement of your spinal cord, but also brain may be involved too.

In the other hand, conditions that may cause such neurological issues are several, so, getting examined by a Neurologist clinically and having done imaging studies (MRI of your spinal cord and/or brain) are necessary to achieve a correct diagnosis.

Spinal stenosis is actually one of the possible conditions that may cause such symptoms.
