Suggest Treatment For Spotting Due To Prolapsed Fibroid

default
Posted on Wed, 19 Apr 2017
Question: Yes, hello, I have been having bleeding/spotting due to a prolapsed fibroid or polyp (last I saw my obgyn dr. on 3/21). Since the spotting and bleeding I've been having lower back pains on both sides of my back and not sure if this from ovarian cysts or the fibroids?

Brief Answer:
prolapsed fibroid is the likely reason

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
Yes, a prolapsed fibroid might definitely be causing the back pain.
Would painkillers help?
If surgery has been advised, I please plan it at the earliest.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Take care

Thanks, do you recommend a special diet for the bleeding? I will be on a mini-vacation this weekend, do you recommend no wine or red meats?

Thanks, again

Brief Answer:
No particular diet

Detailed Answer:
If the fibroid is causing the bleeding, diets won't make much difference either ways.
Take care

I assume too much of anything, esp. wine won't help but may make things worse,

Do you have an opinion on whether I should have let the dr. remove the fibroid without any medications for pain during my recent visit? I was afraid of the pain, wasn't sure if I would bleed more, and wondered what my primary obgyn thought about removing it then. Yesterday, my primary doctor emailed me and asks me do I want a hysterectomy and I'm not sure when she can do anything. I have concerns on how long and how much I may bleed (esp since my regular period may be starting soon around April 1 and I had my last period beginning Mar. 3 and it was really heavy and clots for 2 days as well)...that would be over a month of bleeding (light to heavy and maybe even heavier).

Thanks again for any response, and I have no more questions for now.

Brief Answer:
As below

Detailed Answer:
Yes, exactly, too much of anything , is never going to help.
Would you upload the scan / tests / reports, that document the fibroid, so that I can comment upon how urgently the surgery should have been done.
Yes, you may expect heavy bleeding again, which maybe difficult to manage, given the vacation you have coming up.
Take care.
