Detailed Answer:
Hi

I understand your concern regarding your skin problem and I hope I am able to help you in the same. I have seen the attached picture. You seem to have developed some form of an allergic skin rash.
I would like to know certain more details from you.
Since when you have this rash?Is it on both arms or only a few lesions on the other arm as you mentioned.
What all have you been applying over the arms? Any new creams or oils or cleansers?
Application of any irritants like dettol or salon?
Also if possible, provide some good resolution close up pictures of the affected area for me to have a closer look at it .

I am sure I will be able to help you better once you provide me with the pictures and the above details.

no new creams or cleanser just itching could it be an std of some sort just asking
doctor
Answered by Dr. Geetika Paul (26 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
Not related to any std

Detailed Answer:
Hi again

The kind of rash you have is very unlikely to be related to any std.
It looks like an allergic skin rash .
Apply a topical steroid cream like cortisone cream over the affected area twice daily. Take some oral antihistamines like levocetrizine once daily at night to relieve the itching.
Follow the above treatment regularly for three to five days.
The rash should settle slowly with treatment.
If however it tends to persist or increase, see a local doctor for a closer assessment of the affected area.

Will lamisil work I'll ask doctor about that tomorrow I'm itching like crazy
doctor
Answered by Dr. Geetika Paul (10 hours later)
Brief Answer:
Need treatment for allergy

Detailed Answer:
Hi again

Lamisil is an antifungal cream. Your problem does not look like a fungal infection to me , so it would not help in your case .
You rather need treatment with topical steroid agents along with oral antihistamines as advised earlier .

cortisone cream don't work it's itching like crazy
doctor
Answered by Dr. Geetika Paul (4 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
Might need treatment with more potent agents

Detailed Answer:
HI again

Since itching is very severe ,you might need to apply more potent steroid creams like clobetasol over the rash , which is basically a prescription drug.
So I would advise you to apply cortisone twice daily for the time being and try to see a dermatologist soon for prescription for a more potent drug .

I was told be a friend it could be a sign of hiv
doctor
Answered by Dr. Geetika Paul (2 hours later)
Brief Answer:
Not related to hiv

Detailed Answer:
No,it does not seem to be related to hiv since it is simply an allergic reaction of the skin.
Severe infections could be suggestive of hiv infection, allergic reactions do not have any association with hiv .
So don't worry, just follow the treatment, I am sure it will improve soon .
