Question : My 5yo son has what appeared to be a insect bite on his leg last night, but over the last 12 hours its spread.

Should I be worried or just watch and wait?

Brief Answer:
Bug Bite

Detailed Answer:
Hello. I just read through your question.

The pictures appear to demonstrate enlargement of the red area. I recommend applying an over-the-counter bacterial ointment to the bite directly, 3 times per day. Also, apply warm compresses to the red area. If it continues to expand over the next 8-12 hours, I recommend consulting with your doctor. This could indicate that an oral antibiotic is necessary. If the area shrinks, then this will not be needed.
