Question : My husband has dementia in stage six will citicoline help him
Brief Answer:
not likely to help
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for your question.
Citicoline increases dopamine receptors in the brain and may help some patients with memory and attention problems. In dementia the deficient neurotransmitter is acetyl choline not dopamine.
If your husband has Alzheimer's disease and it is at stage 6 there is not much chance that this medication will help.
Most supplements and prescription medications unfortunately only help people in the early stages of dementia.
I am so sorry that this is going on and I wish you the best.
Please let me know if you have further questions.
